11-minute DEEP REST for sensory overwhelm
Your nervous system is at its limit, and it’s time to lower the internal volume. When sounds feel extra loud, your clothes feel scratchy, and you just want to crawl into a dark closet because you feel completely out-touched - you aren’t in a "bad mood." You are experiencing sensory overwhelm. In this 11-minute deep rest session, there is nothing to accomplish. I’m joining you from my own bed (and my dog is joining us, too) to practice landing exactly where we are. We are giving your body a biological signal that it is okay to let go of holding it all together. Lie down on your bed, a rug, or the floor. Let the surface underneath you be the thing that is strong right now. Stay here for as long as you can.
